Introducing Woodspring Tenants Association

The Woodspring Tenants Association first met on February 6th, in reaction to the notice we received from the owners of Woodspring on January 1st, 2021 that announced the transition of our Woodspring to market rate rent. It was decided to write a letter to the owners describing our situation as low income senior citizens and asking them to not raise our rent. A newsletter team started work on a Tenants Association newsletter to distribute to each apartment each month. We set up a schedule of a zoom call every other week on Saturday. Oregon Law joined one of our first meetings to discuss our legal rights and what they were willing and able to do to help defend our right to organize and to be safe from retribution.
